About the job
In this role you will play a vital part in creating outstanding value for our heat exchanger customers. As a member of the Materials Technology & Chemistry team you will be involved in a wide range of investigations including analysis of customer products process-related studies and the evaluation ofnew technologies.
You will provide support to various stakeholders across the company on matters related to metallic materials. Your responsibilities will include performing in-depth analyses clearly communicating your findings and recommendations to internal teams and contributing to the development of innovative products and services.
Key responsibilities for this role entail:
Participate in R&D projects and provide support for operations related to metallic materials
Analyze interactions at material interfaces and investigate phase transformations.
Supportinfailure investigations by material characterization and microscopy (e.g.light optical microscopy 3D-microscopyand SEM)
Prepare samples and perform analyses of metallic materials ranging from large series of measurements to problem solving in projects
Improve tools and methods within your area of expertise in metallic materials
Collaborate with laboratory technicians material specialists and colleagues across various business units
Handle cases independently delivering results through scientific reports and presentations to stakeholders
Maintain regular contact with multiple functions and business units within the company
What you know
Degree in Materials Science Engineering or related field
Experience in metallic materials sample preparation laboratory analysis and failure investigations microscopy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work independently and deliver clear concise scientific reports and presentations
Experience in wet chemistryis a plus
Experience inCALPHADmethods(e.g.Thermocalc)is a plus
