Research in Computer Science at Kristianstad University is conducted within the Research Environment of Computer Science (RECS) an expanding research environment focused on Intelligent Connected Systems. Research areas include Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning the Internet of Things Cyber-Physical Systems Embedded Systems Distributed Systems and Cybersecurity. RECS promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and addresses future societal and technological challenges through national and international partnerships. Department of Computer Science comprises approximately 30 staff members and offers education at bachelors engineering and advanced levels including programmes in Software Development Computer Science Computer Engineering and Machine Learning.

facultys research of Computer Science Computer Science see: a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science you will play an important role in advancing and assuring the quality of our educational and research activities. Through your expertise and experience you will actively contribute to our core areas of operation and help strengthen and further develop our research environment.

The position includes conducting independent research within the Research Environment of Computer Science (RECS) and actively contributing to its continued development through scientific publications national and international collaborations and applications for external research funding. You are expected to strengthen the research foundation of our educational programmes and contribute to the development of future educational initiatives within the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems.

The duties include teaching supervision and examination at both undergraduate and advanced levels. You will contribute to the development planning and delivery of courses in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Supervision of degree projects is also included as is collaboration with industry and the wider community particularly in relation to research and innovation. Administrative duties form a natural part of the position.

A candidate who is qualified to be senior lecturer has displayed pedagogical proficiency and has a doctorate in Computer Science Computer Engineering or another field relevant to the position or equivalent scholarly competence or other professional proficiency that is relevant to the positions subject matter and the tasks that the position involves (HF chapter 4 section 4). You must have both scientific and pedagogical competence in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline.

You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Proficiency in Swedish. If you are not proficient in Swedish you will be expected to actively develop your ability to teach and communicate in Swedish within a reasonable period after your appointment.
• You are expected to have completed higher education teaching and learning training equivalent to 15 ECTS credits. Candidates who do not yet meet this requirement may complete the training within the first two years of employment.
• Postdoctoral experience the Swedish qualification of docent (associate professor) or equivalent international academic qualifications
• Experience in collaboration and engagement with industry the public sector or the wider community
• Pedagogical qualifications and experience in educational development
• Experience of teaching in both Swedish and English

Particularly meritorious is research within: Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Data Analytics Intelligent Connected Systems Internet of Things (IoT) Cyber-Physical Systems Cybersecurity Embedded Systems Computer Engineering Real-Time Systems Edge Computing Distributed Systems or Autonomous Systems.

The position is a full-time permanent appointment starting by agreement. We normally apply a probationary period of employment. The workplace is located in Kristianstad on our beautiful campus which offers good bus connections and parking facilities. Some teaching may be scheduled during evenings or weekends and may also take place at locations other than Kristianstad.
