Description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the technology strategy IT governance cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives for our Swedish legal entity.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution in an ambitious growth company

You will build and lead the IT security and operational resilience function of a growing regulated fintech company. As CIO you will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) regulations DORA requirements GDPR EBA ICT guidelines and other relevant Swedish and EU legislation.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish lead and scale high-performing IT and security teams.
  • Define and execute the companys IT and technology strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with Finansinspektionen regulations DORA GDPR EBA Guidelines on ICT and security risk management and Swedish cybersecurity requirements.
  • Lead IT governance information security infrastructure and software development functions as they grow
  • Own IT budgeting procurement cost optimization and technology investment planning.
  • Oversee cybersecurity strategy incident management disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure strong controls around outsourcing cloud services and third-party vendor management.
  • Manage IT audits regulatory inspections and remediation activities.
  • Drive digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Risk Legal and Operations teams to maintain a secure and compliant technology environment.
  • Develop and maintain data governance and information security frameworks.
  • Build and operate foundational IT processes tooling and controls
  • Select negotiate and manage relationships with IT vendors cloud providers and software partners.
  • Initially run day-to-day IT operations including end-user support device management SaaS administration and workplace IT.


Requirements
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles within banking fintech or regulated financial services.
  • Strong understanding of Swedish financial regulations and Finansinspektionen expectations regarding ICT and operational resilience.
  • Experience with DORA GDPR ISO 27001 cybersecurity frameworks and cloud governance.
  • Proven experience managing IT risk cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience building or scaling IT and security functions in growing organizations.
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on in fast growing environemnts
  • Experience leading large-scale technology transformation projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Fluent English required; Swedish language skills are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CISSP CISM ITIL COBIT or equivalent.
  • Experience in fintech or digital consumer lending environments.
  • Familiarity with EBA outsourcing guidelines and operational resilience frameworks.
