Who were looking for

We are opening a new position for someone with a scientific background in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or a related field and a good hand with data eager to join a fast-growing deep-tech company.

You will work within our Quality & Testing team at the boundary between the lab and data: you will take part in the electrochemical tests that prove our SOEC technology (from single cell to stack and full system) and you will contribute to the data and automation layer we are currently building to digitalize the department.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work thrives in dynamic environments and combines scientific judgment with a genuine appetite for programming and for bringing order to the chaos of experimental data. It is also a role to grow in: you will arrive with your chemistry foundation and your ease with data you will learn our SOEC technology from the inside (something highly cutting-edge that is barely covered at university) and you will contribute to the departments future advanced-analytics and AI models.

What youll do

You will be a key member of the Quality & Testing team: you will take part in the tests that validate our SOEC technology and contribute to the data and automation layer we are building a real commitment at Kerionics that a colleague specializing in AI is already working on.

Testing execution and support

• Take part in running SOEC test protocols across different configurations (single cell stack and full system) following the defined test matrices.

• Help ensure the test plan is carried out correctly with full traceability of conditions configurations and metadata.

• Run and interpret the usual electrochemical tests (current-voltage curves impedance spectroscopy stability and degradation) quickly gaining autonomy in our SOEC technology.

• Become familiar with operating the electrochemical test stations (gases steam temperature pressure/flow instrumentation and data acquisition).

Data analysis and automation

• Structure clean and standardize experimental data to ensure its quality traceability and reusability.

• Develop or improve automation tools for data processing analysis and visualization using Python SQL or equivalent technologies.

• Help build a centralized database for the departments tests and define its data models and metadata.

• Process raw test data (current-voltage impedance area-specific resistance degradation thermal and gas effects) producing clean analyses and contributing to the technical conclusions.

• Lay the groundwork for the departments future advanced-analytics and AI models.

How we work

Our work happens very close to the product itself: laboratory workshop prototypes testing and validation. Thats why we work on-site at Parque Tecnológico de Paterna.

We work with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. If you enjoy learning by doing solving real engineering problems and contributing directly to a product that is being built from scratch this is the place for you.

We start at 7:30 which leaves your afternoons free for sport family or whatever you enjoy most.

What we ask for

• You are fluent in Spanish and English.

• Living in Valencia or willing to relocate within a reasonable timeframe (6-8 weeks).

• Valid work permit in Spain (we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position).

• Degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or a related field ideally complemented by training in Data Science / Big Data / AI.

• Demonstrable ability in Python SQL and databases even at the level of masters academic or portfolio projects.

• Genuine interest in learning the electrochemistry domain and SOEC technology.

• Willingness to do hands-on lab work.

Not essential but youll surprise us if you also bring:

• Direct experience with SOEC/SOFC testing or with other hydrogen electrochemical systems (PEM AEM alkaline electrolysis fuel cells batteries).

• Advanced interpretation of impedance spectroscopy (EIS): equivalent circuits and frequency-response analysis.

• Design of data automation workflows and experience with specific relational databases (PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server...).

• Data visualization (Power BI Grafana Dash Plotly or equivalents).

• Some knowledge of machine learning or predictive analytics applied to experimental data.

• 25-30K depending on experience and skills.
