Job Summary
Join TOMRA Food as Team Leader - Field Service Engineers and play a key role in leading our Field Service operations across this position you will combine people leadership operational excellence and business development to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction team performance and sustainable service growth.
You will lead a team of Field Service Engineers responsible for the installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of our industry-leading food sorting solutions. Approximately 50% of your focus will be dedicated to leading and developing your team while the remaining 50% will be focused on driving service performance customer relationships commercial opportunities and operational improvements.
Team Leadership & People Development
- Act as the first point of contact for team members regarding organizational support guidance and Health & Safety matters.
- Lead coach mentor and develop a team of Field Service Engineers across Spain.
- Manage onboarding and integration of new team members.
- Monitor team performance provide regular feedback and support individual development plans.
- Foster a culture of collaboration accountability engagement and continuous learning.
- Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Participate in recruitment and selection activities together with the hiring manager.
- Lead by example promoting TOMRAs values safety culture and customer-first mindset.
- Manage workloads schedules resource allocation and field coverage to maximize efficiency and employee wellbeing.
Customer Service & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Drive customer satisfaction service quality and long-term customer loyalty.
- Support business growth by identifying service sales opportunities upgrades modernization projects spare parts opportunities and additional service offerings.
- Work closely with Sales Customer Success and Service teams to maximize customer value.
- Follow up on escalated customer situations and ensure timely resolution and communication.
- Drive the team to achieve customer satisfaction service performance revenue and profitability objectives.
- Participate in customer meetings service reviews and strategic discussions when required.
Operational Excellence & Technical Leadership
- Ensure efficient planning dispatching and utilization of field service resources.
- Maintain an overview of weekly dispatching activities and support service planning decisions.
- Implement and improve processes procedures and best practices to increase efficiency and quality.
- Support Field Service Engineers in resolving complex technical issues and customer escalations.
- When required participate in customer interventions to support critical technical situations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the service organization.
- Develop business cases and proposals for operational and service improvements.
- Monitor service KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Projects & Change Management
- Participate in designated projects and cross-functional company initiatives.
- Lead and support organizational change initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and global service teams to share best practices.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen TOMRAs service organization and customer experience.
Qualifications :
- Ideal candidate has multiple years of experience as Field Service Engineer or other internal Service Function.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred whether through formal management or team leadership responsibilities.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronic Mechanical Mechatronics Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of Field Service operations customer support and service delivery processes.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate coach and develop technical teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and support business growth opportunities.
- Proven customer-focused mindset with a track record of delivering excellent customer experiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in both technical and people-management environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Experience with CRM ERP or Field Service Management systems is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Strong advocate for Health & Safety and compliance standards.
- Willingness to travel within Spain and occasionally across Europe (up to approximately 30 - 50%).
- Valid driving license and passport.
