Senior ISR Mission Systems Engineer (Military Derivatives)

An opportunity for a highly skilled and proactive Senior ISR Mission Systems Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space Getafe (Madrid).
We are a high-performing team developing complex multi-sensor mission suites for major aircraft platforms focused on maritime surveillance and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW).
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a senior member of TADMI your primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead Systems Engineering activities in the Mission Systems field.
- Analyze customer requirements for its transformation into design solutions.
- Assess innovative technologies and architectures to deliver independent cost benefit analysis.
- Specify integrate qualify certify and ensure the continued airworthiness of the Mission Systems.
- Lead the detailed system design process: functional requirements modelling subsystem specifications ICDs.
- Sensor & Subsystem Management of the integration and optimization of specialized sensors (Acoustic MAD Radar etc.)
- System Integration & Lifecycle Management: within a V-shape development framework covering the full lifecycle from requirements capture to final equipment integration.
- Lead V&V activities including product laboratory validation and supporting aircraft ground and flight testing.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight of specialized suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Support Services and Commercial campaigns in all aspects related to Mission Systems.
SKILLS
- Educational Background: Degree in Aerospace Electronic Computer Science or Systems Engineering. A Masters degree is highly preferred.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in ISR Mission Systems or Avionics within the aerospace or defense sector.
- Technical Knowledge: While we work with a wide array of technologies we highly value deep expertise in any (or several) of the following domains:
- ASW & Underwater Detection:Acoustic Systems Magnetic Anomaly Detection (MAD)
- Mission Computing & Avionics Integration:high-performance computing platforms embedded hardware real-time environments aeronautical data buses (e.g. MIL-STD-1553 ARINC 429 Ethernet/AFDX) and system-level integration qualification processes for mission-critical hardware emerging computing technologies for aerospace applications.
- Aeronautical Cybersecurity cyber-Resilience applied to mission systems and aeronautical networks standards & compliance following regulatory frameworks such as DO-326A / ED-202A.
- Maritime & Electronic Surveillance:Radar & Electro-optics Electronic Warfare & Identification (SIGINT/ELINT/ESM/COMINT) AIS
- Tactical Datalinks: Link 16 VMF or Link 22
- Systems Engineering & Integration full development lifecycle V&V process functional analysis configuration control complex mission architectures.
- General Airworthiness and Certification process knowledge.
- Language Proficiency: Strong verbal and written skills in both Spanish and English are mandatory. Knowledge of French is highly desirable and will be considered a significant asset.
- Soft Skills:
- High level of proactiveness assertiveness and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex technical troubleshooting.
- Willingness to interact in international environments with many different people and profiles.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel as needed to support customer discussions supplier oversight integration and flight-testing requirements.
