Homologation makes a Stark road-legal in Europe the US Australia Taiwan Brazil China and every market we open next. As Senior Homologation Engineer you will be the technical owner of that work: the Type Approval files the COP programme component and system certifications and the direct relationship with technical services and approval authorities.
This is a hands-on high-autonomy role at the centre of the company coordinating with vehicle engineering quality production and commercial teams.
You will join a small senior team that is scaling. There is a clear path to growing regulatory capability around you as Stark enters new markets.
Whole vehicle homologation
Own the Whole Vehicle Type Approval files under Regulation (EU) 168/2013: information documents drawing packages and Certificates of Conformity.
Plan and execute homologation and certification in main non-EU markets such as the US Canada and Australia.
Manage base approvals and extensions through their full lifecycle.
Run the COP programme: manage the test schedule and execution in coordination with Quality.
Support homologation in new key markets such as Latin America China Brazil India Korea and Japan.
Components and systems
Support certification for chargers lighting devices batteries and connected components.
Maintain the Technical File for compliance with the EU Batteries Regulation (EU) 2023/1542.
Design engineering and cross-functional work
Deploy regulatory requirements into engineering early including design reviews from the CAD stage.
Request compare and negotiate quotations from technical services.
Monitor regulatory developments through industry associations and technical committees.
Degree in Engineering: Mechanical Electrical Electronic Industrial or Automotive.
5 years in vehicle type approval homologation or regulatory compliance engineering ideally on L-category vehicles.
Solid working knowledge of Regulation (EU) 168/2013 and the relevant UN Regulations (R10 R53 R78 R85 R148/R149 R155).
Demonstrated experience preparing and submitting complete type-approval dossiers and managing approvals through their full lifecycle.
Hands-on experience coordinating and witnessing tests with technical services (IDIADA DEKRA TÜV or equivalent) and the ability to critically review test reports rather than simply file them.
Understanding of COP and of quality-management systems.
Rigorous technical documentation skills.
Fluent English.
Autonomous structured and comfortable making a compliance decision in a fast-moving environment.
Experience with electric powertrains: electrical safety EMC chargers battery systems.
Familiarity with the EU Batteries Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and the Digital Battery Passport.
Regulatory cybersecurity experience (RED Delegated Act UN R155 Cyber Resilience Act).
Non-EU homologation experience: US Canada Australia Taiwan India China Brazil or Latin America.
Product or electrical safety certification: CB Scheme CE marking.
Experience being the audited party in front of an approval authority.
