Senior Financial Analyst, EU Amazon Logistics Process Excellence & Engineering Finance

Amazon Logistics is transforming its last-mile delivery network at pace opening new delivery stations expanding faster delivery options for customers and handling steadily growing volumes across Europe. Two things decide how cost-effectively that network runs how efficiently each delivery station operates and how well we invest the capital that improves and automates it. Process Excellence sets the standard for station efficiency through process governance quality and defect reduction while Engineering decides how the network is built and automated through process engineering automation and station design. Finance partners closely with both making sure every efficiency gain and every euro of capital is grounded in solid analysis and delivers the return it promised.

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who is excited to partner with Process Excellence and Engineering and influence how the network invests. You will own the financial partnership across process governance quality and defect reduction on the Process Excellence side and the ROI of automation process engineering and design investments on the Engineering side so that a single automation or design decision that can shape the cost of running a station for years is grounded in the rigour you bring to sizing the opportunity testing the assumptions and tracking the return.

With the reporting automated and much of the recurring analysis now taking care of itself the value you bring is in reading the numbers better than anyone else testing whether a business case holds before the capital is committed and partnering with operators and engineers to invest where it earns the most. You will draw on the teams own AI and automation tools to spend your time exactly there on the analysis and the partnership that move performance on a team that keeps setting itself a higher standard and will look to you to help shape what comes next.


Key job responsibilities
Own the financial partnership for Process Excellence connecting process governance quality and returns performance to financial outcomes and identifying where efficiency is falling short of benchmark.
Review the ROI of Engineering investments (automation process engineering projects design change requests) sizing the opportunity quantifying the trade-off and making thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be difficult to procure.
Review capital investment cases making sure they are rigorous complete and grounded in credible assumptions before they move forward and connect performance back to the original investment.
Track investment actuals against business case closing the loop through to benefits realisation and feeding lessons back into planning.
Contribute to the cross-functional programs that reduce cost and defects on the Process Excellence side.
Communicate the drivers behind process quality and investment performance to senior stakeholders turning analysis into decisions.
Partner with data and technology teams to automate recurring analysis and support the adoption of the teams AI and automation tools across the wider finance community.


A day in the life
You will be at the center of how the network invests in its own performance so on any given day you might be working with a business partner to understand whether an efficiency gain is genuine or an artefact of the benchmark pressure-testing an automation or design business case together to see whether the payback holds once you stress the assumptions or turning what the numbers are telling you into a clear recommendation that moves an investment decision forward.

Some of the questions you will help answer:

Is this efficiency gain a genuine improvement or is the benchmark flattering us
Does this automation or design investment still pay back once we stress the assumptions and how will we know once it ships
Where should the network put its next euro of capital to build the most performance

No two days look the same but the thread that ties them together is that you will use data judgement and financial rigour to help the network invest where it earns the most working alongside operators and engineers to get there.

As part of the EU AMZL Central Finance team you will join a team that is passionate about numbers data and how to use them to generate insights and improve our business. We partner across countries and delivery stations to strengthen the productivity plan protect the cost base and shape where the network invests next and we are the trusted business advisors to Central Operations leadership working with our partners to make sure they have the most reliable information and make the best possible decisions.

- Bachelors degree or Masters degree
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles or experience delivering results for large cross-functional initiatives/projects
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL MS Power Query Python) or experience in Excel (macros index conditional list arrays pivots lookups)
- Experience with financial and statistical modeling

- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Statistics Business or a related field
- Experience identifying and resolving complex issues
- Experience in a fast paced dynamic organization
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
