As our Security Officer you will perform essential security duties under general supervision helping to provide a safe and secure hospital environment for patients employees and visitors.
Every day you will lock/unlock doors assist in the Emergency Department remain alert for fire/safety hazards control access to the facility respond to all emergency codes and help enforce hospital policies in accordance with established procedures.

- Patrols hospital building and grounds according to established round schedules in order to detect and prevent theft vandalism fire and other threats to hospital security.
- Records time of patrols.
- Reports potential hazardous conditions and suspicious activities to the appropriate department or supervisor. Assists with deescalating or restraining disturbed patients and visitors.
- Intervenes with physical management techniques whenever deemed necessary. Monitors hospital facilities through use of security cameras.
- Notes suspicious activity and responds to unusual or potential dangerous conditions. Responds to calls for aid from various hospital areas particularly the Emergency Department.
- Investigates and prepares reports detailing accidents thefts lost property safety and security violations and so forth.
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Familiarity with Life Safety Codes and Joint Commission Environment of Care Compliance Regulations
- Three (3) years security related experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent security experience outside of healthcare or law enforcement
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Current valid Drivers License
- Essentials of Aggression Management in Healthcare certification (EAM) within 30 days of hire. UT not required.
- Taser Certification within 30 days of hire. Not required in Utah
Preferred
- Six (6) years security related experience in a healthcare setting or law enforcement.
