Regional PR Lead, Africa
Job Summary
YOUR MISSION
As the Africa PR Lead you will be the strategic architect of Glovos reputation across several of our anglo and francophone African markets: Nigeria Uganda Tunisia and Côte dIvoire.
At this pivotal stage you will lead the regional PR and social media strategy acting as a chameleon to navigate the diverse cultural nuances of the continent. By bridging the gap between corporate storytelling and creative consumer campaigns you will position Glovo as a Top Tech Company and a Love Brand. Reporting directly to the Global Communications Director you will work hand-in-hand with other regional leaders to ensure our communication is 360 data-driven and impactful.
BE A PART OF A TEAM WHERE YOU WILL:
PR Comms and Media Relations
Strategic Execution: Own and execute the day-to-day local PR strategy identifying strategic communication opportunities to showcase business milestones and reinforce our industry leadership.
Media Network: Build and nurture long-term relationships with journalists media houses and tech Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across both Anglophone and Francophone markets.
Crisis Management: Act as the first line of defense for high-stakes regulatory shifts or media crises making quick informed decisions to safeguard the brand.
Agency Management: Onboard and manage external agencies ensuring they meet KPIs stay within budget and deliver high-quality content like press releases and Q&As.
Executive Support: Prepare General Managers and regional leaders for media appearances through comprehensive media training.
Social Media and Creative Strategy
Social Footprint: Manage and grow Glovos social media presence in Africa specifically leveraging LinkedIn and consumer-facing platforms to connect with customers creatively.
Campaign Integration: Coordinate consumer-facing campaigns that integrate influencer partnerships with data-driven success metrics.
Narrative Building: Maximize lifestyle narratives to strengthen Glovos Love Brand status across the continent.
Strategy and Reporting
Metric Ownership: Own PR OKRs and budgets providing regular reports on positive media coverage share of voice and sentiment analysis.
Cross-functional Alignment: Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Legal Operations Marketing Growth and Finance to ensure consistent messaging.
Qualifications :
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
Regional PR Expertise: 5 years of progressive experience in PR or social media with a deep understanding of the media landscape and reputation dynamics across Africa.
Language Mastery: Native or fluent proficiency in English is a must while French is definitely an extra point.
Strategic Doer Mentality: A startup mindset (gas) where you are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to handle day-to-day execution alongside agencies.
Agile Crisis Management: A proven track record of handling high-stakes media or social media crises with quick decision-making under pressure.
Creative & Analytical Mindset: The ability to draft compelling media strategies while remaining disciplined about organizational skills budgets and KPI reporting.
Adaptability: The versatility to handle different cultural nuances across Africa and the flexibility to travel on-demand to the 4 countries where we operate.
Location: While this role is based in Barcelona it requires a daily strategic focus on the African region and the ability to travel on a monthly basis.
