Purchasing Specialist

Job Summary
The Purchasing Specialist ensures that items and services required to manufacture our IVD Solutions are purchased from specified suppliers and delivered according to agreed terms and conditions. Additionally this role is responsible for negotiating rates with freight service suppliers and overseeing import transit operations.
Key Accountabilities
Runs reports in SAP to determine purchase requests for expense items; generates purchase orders for inventory items based on established reorder points and periodically reviews reorder points for accuracy.
Creates purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions.
Issues purchase orders to suppliers and confirms that delivery dates quantities and prices are correct.
Maintains strong vendor relationships to secure optimal pricing and order prioritization.
Confers with vendors to obtain product/service information regarding pricing availability and delivery schedules.
Conducts periodic conference calls with suppliers to track progress on ongoing projects.
Manages data entry and filing of procurement documentation.
Maintains procurement records monitors delivery timelines identifies delays and collaborates with vendors to prevent customer backorders.
Responds to internal and external inquiries to provide relevant information guidance or appropriate referrals.
Participates in department meetings exhibitions and workshops to gather or convey operational information.
Coordinates directly with Warehouse and Planning departments.
Addresses defective or unacceptable goods and services with Quality Control Inspection teams internal users and vendors to identify root causes and execute corrective actions.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required
Education:
Required: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
Valuable: Advanced degree beyond the minimum requirement.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a similar purchasing or supply chain role.
Technical & Language Skills:
Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word). Advanced knowledge of SAP is highly valuable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish or Catalan. Intermediate level of English (written reading and spoken).
