The Product Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all products meet applicable regulatory safety and stewardship standards. This role requires strong technical expertise and business acumen to assess compliance risks support cross-functional teams in integrating regulatory requirements maintain accurate documentation and uphold the companys commitment to product safety and legal conformity. The position will focus primarily on our Personal Care businesses.
Conduct risk assessments for raw materials and finished nonwoven products to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
Monitor and interpret global regulations (e.g. REACH FDA food contact chemical restrictions labeling) and translate them into actionable business guidance
Evaluate and approve raw materials (fibers binders additives) for compliance with product safety and regulatory standards
Define and manage product testing programs including chemical toxicological and application-specific requirements
Partner with Product Development Commercial Procurement Quality and Manufacturing teams to embed compliance requirements into product development scale-up and change management processes
Respond to customer inquiries on product compliance (e.g. regulatory declarations substance disclosures) with accurate and timely information
Identify and manage emerging regulatory risks and substances of concern impacting nonwoven and films applications
Drive continuous improvement of compliance processes systems and documentation (e.g. Sphera 3E)
Collaborate with internal teams and external laboratories to ensure consistent compliance execution across the value chain
Maintain accurate documentation and support customer audits regulatory inspections and product stewardship reviews
Support Process development and improvement activities for the function.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry Materials Science Polymer Science or a related technical field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs/product compliance regulatory or product stewardship (nonwovens polymers hygiene or healthcare preferred)
Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks (e.g. REACH FDA food contact materials chemical compliance)
Experience with nonwoven raw materials (fibers resins additives) preferred
Familiarity with compliance systems and regulatory tools (e.g. Sphera 3E)
Strong analytical risk assessment and problem-solving abilities
Excellent stakeholder communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance
Ability to work effectively in a global cross-functional environment
Fluent in English; additional languages (Spanish German French) are a plus
Lean or Six Sigma training a plus
