The Opportunity
We areseekinga passionate and dedicated leader to join our volunteer Board of Directors. As a board member you will play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction ensuring financial sustainability and championing our mission.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Governance:Participatein setting the strategic vision approving annual budgets and evaluating the organizations progress.
- Fiduciary Duty:Ensure the organizationcomplies withits legal obligations andmaintainsfinancial integrity.
- Advocacy & Ambassadors:RepresentNESsTin thecommunity helping to build networks and raise awareness for our cause.
- Resource Development:Activelyparticipatein fundraising efforts either through personal contributions introducing the organization to potential donors orassistingwith events.
Ideal Qualifications & Expertise
We are actively looking for candidates whopossessa personal commitment to our mission and bring experience in any of the following areas:
- Strong network of corporate investment developmentphilanthropicinstitutionsand/orHNWIs/Family OfficesinEurope including Belgium Germany the Netherlands Spainand Switzerland with a focus on supporting Central Europe and/or Latin America.
- Experience and/or commitment to impact investing; particularlywith a focus onCentral and Eastern EuropePoland Romania.
- Passionate about opening doors and making introductions to your networks.
- Understandingthe social enterprise and small enterprisesectorsin theregion is a plus.
Time Commitment & Terms
- Term:Board members servea 3-yearterm with the opportunity for renewal.
- Meetings:The board meetsthree to four times per year virtually with one in-presencemeeting.
- Committee Work:Members are expected to serve on at least one committee requiring anadditional2hours per month.
Serving on the board ofNESsTis an opportunity to make a tangible lasting differenceamong social enterprises and SMEs serving vulnerable peoplein theemerging market countries while collaboratingwith a network of dedicated professionals. This is a non-compensated volunteer leadership role.
