Job Summary

  1. Purpose of Position

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Manager Engineering Operations reporting to our Senior Director EngOps and DevOps for our newly established Technology Hub in Madrid. As Manager Engineering Operations you are accountable for driving operational excellence engineering productivity and cross-functional alignment across all software platform and cloud engineering domains. You will function as a positive enabler using your communication skills and political acumen to maintain support from engineering teams for your initiatives. You will serve as the operational backbone of engineering ensuring that teams have the frameworks tooling processes and governance required to deliver high-quality secure and scalable software on a global scale.

 

You will contribute to global products and platforms that serve both internal and external customers in Commercial Real Estate across multiple regions. You are a hands-on problem-solver with strong design principles who thrives in a collaborative and agile environment. You will partner closely with Software Engineering Cloud Engineering DevOps InfoSec Product and Enterprise Architecture teams to standardize how engineering teams work measure performance adopt platform capabilities and improve delivery velocity. You will own the end-to-end engineering operations strategy and ensure consistent execution and continuous improvement across global teams.

 

  1. Essential Functions and Job Duties

 Engineering Operations Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute a global Engineering Operations strategy aligned with organizational objectives technology roadmaps and platform capabilities.
  • In collaboration with the teams establish and maintain engineering-wide operating models covering SDLC CI/CD environment management deployment practices runbooks observability and change management.
  • Be a partner for Software Engineering providing support to them so they achieve their goals work efficiently and have a positive developer experience. Act as a key facilitator for agile best practices within the different teams.
  • Drive alignment with InfoSec governance by embedding policies standards and processes into engineering workflows.
  • In alignment with the global software engineering leadership own and continuously refine engineering benchmarks KPIs OKRs performance dashboards and delivery metrics.

 

Platform Enablement & Developer Productivity

  • Lead global initiatives to improve developer experience including tooling workflow automation documentation onboarding and platform self-service capabilities.
  • Partner with Cloud Engineering DevOps Data & AI and Infrastructure to ensure consistent adoption of shared engineering platforms (ADO IaC pipelines monitoring logging).
  • Identify friction points across the engineering lifecycle and drive improvements that reduce lead time eliminate waste and improve quality.
  • Ensure a unified approach to local and global development environments templates and engineering standards.

Delivery Excellence & Operational Quality

  • Partner with the Senior Engineering Program Lead to ensure predictable high-quality delivery across all engineering streams.
  • Provide governance and oversight for engineering quality including process adherence release management and operational readiness standards.
  • Establish cross-team post-incident learning postmortem culture and continuous improvement cycles.
  • Support adoption of DevOps and SRE best practices across development teams leveraging shared patterns and guardrails.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as the central coordination point between engineering teams and other functions such as Product Data & AI InfoSec Enterprise Architecture Compliance and Infrastructure.
  • Facilitate global forums engineering councils and working groups to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership for operational strategy organizational design and capability development.
  • Partner with InfoSec Governance to ensure compliant and secure engineering practices without unnecessary operational overhead.

 

People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead mentor and develop a global EngOps team that includes Developer Experience Engineering Governance Delivery Enablement and Engineering Program Management.
  • Define required skill sets workforce plans and capability roadmaps for EngOps.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence transparency continuous learning documentation and automation.
  • Promote diversity inclusion innovation and sustainable delivery practices across engineering teams.

Qualifications :

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in Engineering Operations Software Engineering or related domains
  • 3 years of leadership experience in complex global engineering environments serving engineering team as a trusted enable to become the best version of themselves.
  • Servant leadership
  • Deep understanding of SDLC best practices DevOps principles CI/CD cloud platforms observability and engineering productivity tooling.
  • Proven ability to define and execute operational strategies at scale.
  • Experience collaborating with InfoSec Architecture Cloud and Product functions.
  • Strong skills in data-driven decision-making KPI frameworks and metrics-based performance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Fluent in English and Spanish.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in large-scale multi-cloud environments (GCP Azure).
  • Background in SRE CloudOps or Developer Experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 SOC 2 or equivalent governance frameworks.
  • Agile Development experience (Scrum/Kanban) including story estimation code reviews and pair programming.
  • Experience working in distributed or remote teams and using tools such as Jira GitHub Miro and Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced growing tech environment and to foster change in larger organizations.
