We are looking for a Legal Counsel based in Barcelona or Madrid who will be Epassis legal advisor for VIP District in Spain and Portugal while also supporting colleagues with legal matters in Italy and Germany. You get to lead topics independtly whilst working as part of a legal team consisting of eight other persons across European markets.
Your Mission
As Legal Counsel you will be the primary legal advisor for VIP District in Spain covering everything from corporate law to contracts privacy employment and consumer law. You will guide the business through commercial negotiations regulatory questions and cross-border legal challenges acting as a trusted partner to colleagues across the organisation.
Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Serving as the primary legal advisor for VIP District in Spain on corporate law privacy contracts employment law and consumer law.
- Drafting reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts in Spanish and English.
- Providing ad hoc legal support in other VIP District countries i.e. Portugal Germany and Italy.
- Advising on a broad range of legal matters including employee benefits taxation and marketing.
- Training colleagues on contracting data protection and other relevant legal topics.
- Contributing to group-wide legal projects.
What Youll Be Doing (Daily)
- Reviewing drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Answering legal queries from stakeholders across departments and countries.
- Monitoring regulatory developments including data protection and AI regulation.
- Supporting colleagues with contracting best practices and legal templates.
- Collaborating with legal counterparts in other VIP District markets.

What You Should Bring
- Qualified lawyer in Spain with a masters degree from a reputable university.
- 4-8 years of post-qualification experience preferably in-house and/or from a law firm.
- Significant experience with commercial contracts.
- Knowledge of data regulation in general including the AI Act.
- Solid understanding of corporate and employment law.
- Excellent drafting skills in both Spanish and English.
Your Language Profile
- Spanish C2 level
- English C1 level
- Portuguese Italian or German an advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience in legal operations: process improvement template management or legal technology including AI-assisted workflows.
- Knowledge of Portuguese corporate law.
- Experience with tech companies and/or payment institutions.
