Job Summary

In this role you will contribute to the research and analysis of regulatory frameworks across various markets. Your key responsibilities will include tracking regulatory and policy developments in the tobacco-alternative and cannabis sectors with a strong emphasis on their connection to public health debates and policy-making processes. This position offers the chance to address strategic challenges and make a meaningful impact in dynamic and rapidly evolving industries.

The role:

  • Data Collection: Identifying gathering and processing regulatory and legal data to maintain and update in-house databases.
  • Desk Research: Conducting in-depth research to track and analyse changes in legislation policies and industry practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: engage key stakeholders including regulatory authorities industry experts and policymakers to gather their views legal interpretation and insights into enforcement.
  • Analysis: Analysing legal frameworks regulatory proposals and market impacts to inform strategic decision-making for our clients.
  • Writing: Producing clear insightful reports and other products on legal and regulatory developments in specific countries sectors or product categories for our clients.
  • Forecast: Predicting imminent and long-term changes in the regulatory landscape across specific geographical areas and jurisdictions.

This position will be offered at either the Intern or Legal Analyst level commensurate with the successful candidates experience.

Requirements

What We Expect from Candidates:

  • Proficiency in English: A high level of English is essential. Proficiency in other languages particularly in northern or eastern European and Asian languages is a strong advantage.
  • Educational Background: A law or political science degree (or near completion) is required. Familiarity with the EU legal system and politics is beneficial.
  • Analytical and Research Skills: The ability to structure complex problems ask relevant questions engage with key stakeholders in our markets and critically evaluate your own work.
  • Resourcefulness and Tenacity: A proactive approach to tackling new challenges developing creative solutions and demonstrating persistence to address issues thoroughly.
