Location: Barcelona area (multiple centres all reachable by public transport)

Penguins is Barcelonas leading swim academy for babies children and pregnant women a fast-growing family-run brand known for its high-quality personalized approach. As we continue to grow were looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support our teams across our different centres combining daily hands-on presence with real closeness to our people.

Youll be the go-to HR person for our teams present across our centres supporting recruitment onboarding and the everyday questions and needs of our staff and managers. Youll work closely with our founders and site managers with real room to grow as the company opens new locations.

Your mission

Workplace climate & employee experience

  • Regular rotating presence across our centres to stay close to teams understand whats working and flag concerns early.
  • Being a visible approachable presence people feel comfortable coming to directly.
  • Running regular listening check-ins with employees over the course of the year.

Recruitment & talent attraction

  • Managing job postings CV screening and first-round interviews for our teams (swim instructors front-desk and support roles).
  • Helping build relationships with training institutes and other sourcing channels to keep a steady flow of candidates especially ahead of the summer season.
  • Coordinating interview logistics and keeping candidates informed throughout the process.

Onboarding development & offboarding

  • Running the new-hire welcome process (induction initial training introduction to our policies and culture).
  • Following up with new hires at 30 60 and 90 days.
  • Supporting exit interviews and keeping track of turnover trends.

Supporting managers

  • Helping site managers with everyday people questions
  • Putting together simple practical training materials and short sessions for managers as needed.
  • Regular check-ins with the team to flag priorities and issues.

HR administration

  • Liaising with our gestoría on payroll and contract changes.
  • Coordinating with our occupational health provider (medical check-ups workstation assessments fitness-for-work follow-up).
  • Handling day-to-day admin: sick leave time off accident tracking.
  • Answering employee questions on payroll contracts and leave.

Internal communication

  • Keeping our people informed through our internal channels (digital noticeboards short team briefings).
  • Helping run and follow up on our engagement surveys.

Your profile

  • 5 years of experience in a Human Resources generalist role.
  • Comfortable being hands-on day to day: this is an execution-focused role not a desk-bound strategy position.
  • Good listening and people skills; comfortable having direct conversations with staff and managers.
  • Some experience with recruitment or building a candidate pipeline.
  • Fluent Spanish; working English enough to communicate with our international families and team members. Catalan is a plus.
  • Comfortable travelling between our centres day to day (all reachable by public transport).
