About the role
As part of Forvis Mazars strategic initiative to build a centralized Global Payroll service we support multinational clients across Europe by delivering coordinated payroll and HR administrative services through standardized processes technology and centralized governance. This model ensures compliance at both local and international levels while providing clients with accurate consistent and centralized reporting from our Center of Excellence (CoE).
To support the continued growth of this strategic service we are seeking a Global Payroll Project Manager to join the expanding Global Payroll Client Management team in Barcelona. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-impact international project working in a fully international environment and collaborating with multiple countries across Europe.
Your mission
As a Global Payroll Project Manager you will act as a trusted partner for complex multinational clients and internal stakeholders taking end-to-end ownership of the relationship and the delivery of their international mandates while continuously improving and automating the processes that support them.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for multinational clients and participating Forvis Mazars countries.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with client stakeholders.
- Managing the onboarding and transition of new clients into the Global Payroll model ensuring alignment between clients the CoE and local Forvis Mazars teams.
- Leading the ongoing management of complex cross-border client engagements.
- Creation and maintenance of dashboards to clearly show progress on client onboarding process and ongoing client management.
- Proactively identifying managing and resolving operational financial and coordination issues.
- Monitoring fees budgets and profitability and performing financial and performance analyses of mandates.
- Defining tracking and reporting KPIs and service-level metrics with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Organizing and leading regular governance meetings with clients to review performance risks and action plans.
- Driving continuous improvement by standardizing and automating recurring tasks reporting and workflows to increase efficiency and quality and supporting Forvis Mazars countries and internal teams on related initiatives.
Your profile
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Finance or a related field. Project management certifications are a plus.
- At least three years proven experience in an international or multinational environment ideally managing complex client relationships and coordinating cross-border accounting outsourcing payroll or compliance engagements.
- Understanding payroll accounting auditing or compliance frameworks.
- High proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) with strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to improve and automate processes (e.g. Power Query Power Automate macros or similar tools).
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Project Planner Jira or similar) and exposure to ERP or financial reporting systems.
- Fluent English both written and spoken. Additional European languages are a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities work under tight deadlines and operate with a high level of autonomy.
- Strong communication stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams with strong attention to detail.
