What you will do:
The candidate will be expected to work in the EU Capital Structuring within the Corporate Finance team. The main activity of work is supporting the daily financial management of the assigned Business Units (BU) to manage business finance activities.
The candidate will analyse prepare and execute the financial processes necessary for the financial viability of the projects being the most outstanding (i) assist in the assessment of the financing alternative and conditions to determine the adequate financial structure of the projects in time both in the construction phase and in the exploitation phase whether short term or long term including the preparation of financial models to run sensitivities (ii) contribute in the contractual implementation of the selected source of financing (internal or external contracts internal or external authorizations etc.) either via corporate finance or via project finance (iii) support the management for determination of the necessary interest rate and currency hedges if any and their monitoring during the term of such hedges (iv) preparation and reporting of the covenants associated with project financing (v) preparation and monitoring of project cash flow forecasts and (vi) preparation of internal and external presentations and reporting. The role will mainly entail the identification quantification mitigation and monitoring of financial risks impacting the EDP Group across all its geographies and businesses.

General responsibilities:
- Support the EU Capital Structuring Direction to implement and manage the appropriate financial structure of the projects/companies keeping in mind the following objectives:
- Support in the definition of the potential funding scenarios and develop sensitivity analysis; highlighting impacts in terms of profitability using excel based financial models.
- Develop specific skills in financing solutions adopted in different platforms and engage the local teams in new projects.
- Follow-up on the projects finance structure evolution at various stages; as described during the internal analysis the approval process and implementation stage.
- Responsible for supporting the scheduling activities related to the financial area (long-term funding bridge equity and hedging).
- Maintaining updated relations with financial institutions and negotiations with financial institutions and other entities if it is the case including Due Diligence processes.
- Assist with gathering and presenting necessary information required by the shareholders.
- Ensure the general financial management of each assigned business unit namely
- Perform the financial activities based on systems and processes under appropriate internal control.
- Perform on a periodically basis the Cash Flow Forecast towards an accurate and timely prediction of the assigned BUs funding needs matched with the sources of funding and implement the necessary measures to mitigate deviations in relation to Budget/Forecast.
- In coordination with the Corporate Global Treasury Department supervise evaluate and approve the cash requests issued by the assigned Bus.
- In coordination with the Corporate Finance Department assist on the required Credit Support for the Projects;
- Perform on the finance activities monitoring and reporting on financial performance namely in relation to financial liabilities and assets equity and financial costs or revenues.
- Liaising with other departments such as M&A Legal Tax and Accountancy on a range of issues including support on the required development and finance activities to obtain necessary internal approvals for investment decisions.

What are we looking for:
1. Academic Skills:
- Bachelors degree in finance economics or business administration.
- MBA masters in management or advanced Degree in Finance as plus.
2. Professional Experience:
- At least 3-4 years in the financial/investment/accounting department of a medium or large sized company or group.
- Experience in Project Finance contracts.
- Experience in financial modelling.
- Experience in the energy sector is a plus.
3. Specific Knowledge:
- Knowledge of appropriate accounting and financial softwares (SAP TMS systems Appian Bloomberg...);
- Acknowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Report Standards (IFRS);
- Advance skills in MS Office including Excel Word Power BI and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of financial instruments including their structure valuation and accounting treatment.
- Experience working and/or developing AI solutions for finance as a plus.
4. Languages:
- English (mandatory) (level C1 or equivalent)
- Spanish; knowledgeable in reading and/or writing Portuguese a plus.

- Analysis and presentation skills required;
- Ability to multitask and work in a collaborative multinational environment. Empathy with the needs of BUs. As the role is at the crossroads between different areas and countries within EDP the candidate needs to combine a practical knowledge of financial matters with a good ability to work in teams with an ability to adapt to a variety of situations and priorities;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Self-motivated and able to learn new software tools quickly.
