Environmental Law Research Intern
Job Summary
Were looking for an Environmental Law Research intern (32 40h per week) in Spain to join our Sustainability Regulatory Advisory team for a six-month internship starting in September 2026. The internship is paid and we occasionally hire from our intern pool. The Sustainability Regulatory Advisory team is responsible for maintaining ECOFACT Policy Outlook our industry-leading research service on sustainability regulation. The team also advises ECOFACTs clients on a project and mandate basis.
Tasks
As an Environmental Law Research Intern you will:
- contribute to ECOFACTs legal research on sustainability topics such as circular economy chemicals extended producer responsibility (EPR) packaging and waste across 100 jurisdictions;
- support in regulatory content creation and monitoring under the ECOFACT Policy Outlook platform and its module for pharmaceutical entities;
- be involved in the day-to-day activities of the Sustainability Regulatory Advisory team; and
- contribute to other sustainability regulatory advisory projects and client deliverables on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements
You are / have:
- completed a Bachelors degree in law international law or related field;
- pursuing a Masters degree in disciplines such as Environmental Science Circular Economy Sustainability or a related field;
- full working proficiency in English (spoken and written the role and all interactions with team members will be performed in English);
- strong document drafting skills;
- high attention to detail;
- interested in environmental regulation circular economy and sustainability from a legal and policy perspective;
- valid Spanish work permit; and
- the ability to sign an internship agreement with your center of studies.
You earn extra points if you are/have:
- working proficiency in other languages;
- pharmaceutical life sciences or chemicals industry experience;
- knowledge of or willingness to engage with technical aspects relevant to environmental regulation;
- familiarity with environmental regulatory frameworks specific to the pharmaceutical sector which will be considered a strong advantage;
- strong interpersonal and analytical skills; and
- the ability to self-organize and deliver high quality output within short deadlines.
