Data Science Intern

At YEGO data is at the heart of how we make decisions improve our service and shape the future of urban mobility. With millions of rides across nine European cities every journey generates valuable insights that help us better understand our riders optimize our operations and support our growth.

As a Data Science Intern you will help us better understand predict and optimise YEGOs mobility service through Data Science.

Reporting to the Head of Data you will work on concrete business problems such as mobility demand forecasting fleet optimisation and the automated analysis of user feedback.

You will contribute to the full Data Science lifecycle from understanding the business problem and exploring the data to developing evaluating and deploying solutions. You will also help turn existing Proofs of Concept into reliable solutions integrated into YEGOs data and operational workflows.

• Understand business problems and explore relevant datasets to identify patterns opportunities and potential Data Science approaches.

• Develop test and evaluate Data Science and Machine Learning solutions for concrete business problems.

• Take existing Data Science Proofs of Concept and help deploy them into production from model refinement and validation to integration into YEGOs data workflows.

• Improve models through feature engineering experimentation and appropriate evaluation methodologies.

• Work on different Data Science use cases which may include forecasting optimisation NLP computer vision and geospatial analysis.

• Contribute to the deployment integration and monitoring of models within YEGOs data and operational workflows.

• Investigate new Data Science opportunities and prototype solutions to product and operational challenges.

• Document methodologies and communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science Computer Science Mathematics Statistics Engineering or another quantitative field.

• Strong knowledge of Python and common Data Science libraries such as pandas NumPy and scikit-learn.

• Good knowledge of SQL.

• Good understanding of statistics Machine Learning fundamentals and model evaluation.

• Ability to work with large datasets and turn business problems into structured analytical approaches.

• Interest in taking Data Science projects beyond experimentation and into production.

• Curious and rigorous mindset with a willingness to experiment and challenge assumptions.

• Attention to detail and a strong sense of data quality.

• Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical findings and their business implications clearly.

• Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development.

• Ability to work and communicate professionally in Spanish French and English.

• Experience deploying Machine Learning models or building inference pipelines.

• Previous academic or personal projects involving mobility transportation logistics marketplaces or spatial data.

• Familiarity with cloud environments data warehouses or dbt.

• Ability to communicate professionally in Spanish and/or French.
