As the Data Governance and Compliance Manager you will report to the Head of Data within the Enterprise Data Office Team at Atradius.
This team within Atradius focuses on leading a team of Data Governance & Compliance team that work on the development implementation and ongoing monitoring of data governance policies and procedures (data privacy security compliance and responsible AI).
As the Data Governance and Compliance Manager your primary goals are:
- Lead and manage the Data Governance and Compliance team responsible for developing implementing and continuously monitoring data governance policies and procedures including data privacy security regulatory compliance and responsible AI practices.
- Provide guidance coaching and professional development support to team members offering constructive feedback during 1:1s.
- Support team members in pursuing diverse career paths that align with team objectives and broader Atradius OKRs.
- Ensure compliance with evolving regulations standards and best practices globally.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective implementation of data governance practices across the organization.
- Define maintain and evolve formal data governance roles (such as Data Owners Data Stewards and Data Custodians) ensuring accountability.
- Lead training and mentoring programs on data governance ethics and regulatory expectations to promote a strong data culture company-wide.
- Participate in the design and maintenance of the corporate data catalog ensuring assets metadata glossaries and data lineage are accessible traceable and business-relevant.
- Lead master data management (MDM) efforts ensuring alignment with governance policies and coordinating closely with business stakeholders and external partners.
- Support business areas in managing critical data enabling its consistent and purpose-driven use by enforcing data quality standards through defined rules thresholds KPIs/KRIs and automated control mechanisms.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science data science or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role within data management or data governance role.
- Strong understanding of data governance processes and best practices.
- Proven experience in leading data management projects to demonstrate trust in data.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organisation
- Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies.
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
- Ability to travel occasionally (<10%).
