Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering this role you will be responsible for designing building and supporting secure scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
You will work closely with DevOps Security and Application teams to automate infrastructure improve developer experience and ensure cloud platforms are secure compliant and highly available. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Infrastructure-as-Code mindset and experience in enterprise cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design build and maintain secure scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform ensuring reusable modular and well-governed deployments.
- Administer and support HashiCorp Vault for secure secrets and credentials management.
- Build optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Define maintain and enhance the Cloud Service Catalogue to enable self-service capabilities for engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure compliant cost-effective and high-performing cloud solutions.
- Ensure cloud platforms comply with security governance and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation architectural standards and operational procedures.
- Provide third-line (L3) support for cloud platform incidents and coordinate with vendors when required.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve platform automation monitoring reliability and operational efficiency.
What Youll Be Doing
As a Cloud Platform Engineer your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Building reusable Terraform modules for Azure resource provisioning.
- Implementing Azure governance using Azure AD RBAC and native IAM capabilities.
- Configuring and managing HashiCorp Vault for secure secrets management across cloud environments.
- Designing and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing and security scanning.
- Reviewing infrastructure changes to ensure alignment with security compliance and engineering best practices.
- Working closely with DevOps Security and Development teams to improve platform capabilities and developer experience.
- Supporting platform upgrades maintenance and patching activities while minimizing service disruption.
- Monitoring cloud infrastructure performance and implementing improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Contributing to internal technical documentation knowledge sharing and engineering communities.
Qualifications :
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience managing and automating Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
- Experience implementing and administering HashiCorp Vault.
- Strong experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of Azure networking identity security and governance services.
- Experience with service catalogues and self-service platform capabilities.
- Scripting experience using PowerShell Bash or Python.
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure cloud architecture.
Experience
- Proven experience designing building and supporting enterprise cloud platforms within regulated environments.
- Experience integrating secrets management into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience developing reusable Terraform modules for large-scale cloud deployments.
- Experience improving developer productivity through automation and self-service platforms.
- Strong collaboration skills with experience working across infrastructure security and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
The following certifications are desirable:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
- HashiCorp Vault Certification
- ITIL Foundation (or equivalent Service Management knowledge)
Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
