The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Facilities Officer to join CSIROs Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) team.

In this role you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of site property buildings and support services at our Clayton site. You will coordinate facilities maintenance activities supervise contractors and support services such as security and access control visitor management receipt and dispatch and fleet operations.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will provide high-quality customer service and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows systems and asset management to support CSIROs scientific objectives.

Please note at times the role involves occasional out of hours work participation in emergency response rosters in the respective area. This attracts additional allowances and overtime where applicable.

Your high-level duties will include:

  • Coordinate delivery of facilities and project support functions.
  • Supervise and onboard contractors for repairs maintenance installations and soft services using the works order system.
  • Operate site security and access systems and manage cards/keys in line with privacy requirements.
  • Use systems including work order management access control MS Office and relevant reporting/BMS platforms to coordinate and track work.
  • Support safety fleet visitor management and after-hours on-call response and drive continuous improvement of site services.

Salary: AU$76k AU$96k per annum (pro-rata for part-time) 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 12 months with possibility of extension. Full-time

As the successful candidate you will bring:

  • Relevant work experience in the delivery of facility management services for a diverse range of support facilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and team members across multiple sites.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Some knowledge of procurement processes such as the ability to obtain quotes for goods and services or assisting with this process.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under general direction accept responsibility and take accountability for on-site service provision including the coordination of trade and other services contractors to ensure delivery of hard and soft services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience of relevant procedures/protocols compliance and statutory requirements associated with Federal State and Local Government building and services codes regulations and HSE requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of IT hardware and software including operating systems web based and productivity applications.
  • Current motor vehicle license.
  • A forklift licence or the ability to obtain.
