Job Summary

Appear is building the infrastructure that helps brands get cited by AI: ChatGPT Perplexity Google AI Overviews Gemini. Were early were growing fast and we need someone who can sell a category that didnt exist two years ago.

Context

Search is shifting. When someone asks ChatGPT which law firm clinic or software to use the brands that get cited win the business and most companies have no idea whether theyre showing up. Appear fixes that. We measure AI visibility identify the gaps and build the content infrastructure to close them.

Youll be selling a problem most prospects dont know they have yet which makes this role genuinely hard and genuinely interesting.

Tasks

  • Full-cycle new business: from first touch to signed contract. You own the number.
  • Build and work a targeted pipeline across 23 verticals where AI visibility ROI is clearest (legal healthcare financial services professional services).
  • Run discovery that surfaces the problem before pitching the product. Prospects rarely know their AI citation rate. Youll show them then show them what it costs.
  • Lead demos business case presentations and commercial negotiations with senior stakeholders up to C-level.
  • Work closely with the founders on positioning pricing and deal structure. Your input shapes how we sell.
  • Feed market and objection intelligence directly into product and marketing. No intermediary no lost signal.
  • Use AI natively: account research call prep pipeline management follow-up drafting. We expect this to be table stakes not a differentiator.

Requirements

  • Experience in SEO content marketing or digital agency sales. Youll have instant credibility with buyers who already understand organic search.
  • Familiarity with outbound tooling: Instantly Apollo Clay or similar.
  • Sold into legal healthcare or financial services verticals.

Real category upside. GEO is where SEO was in 2004. Youre early enough to matter.

Founders in the room. Direct access to the CEO CRO CMO and GTM. No bureaucracy between you and decisions.

Were not looking for someone to fill a seat. Were looking for someone who looks at a category that barely exists sees the opportunity and wants to be the person who figured out how to sell it.
