Yard Scanner

Our client is looking for a reliable detail-oriented Yard Scanner to join their depot operations team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment and takes pride in accuracy safety and teamwork.

As a Yard Scanner you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement of containers through the depot by accurately scanning inspecting and recording container information while maintaining smooth traffic flow.

• Control the flow of vehicles entering and exiting the depot.
• Work closely with security personnel to minimise congestion at the depot entrance.
• Identify different container ISO types and container grades.
• Scan all containers into the depot ensuring accurate data capture.
• Inspect containers for visible damage or defects and report findings to drivers and tracking clerks.
• Scan containers out of the depot and verify they are operational before authorising departure.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on non-operational units and escalate unresolved issues to the tracking clerk for technician assistance.
• Maintain a clean safe and organised work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards.

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Previous experience in a logistics warehouse depot or container yard environment will be advantageous.
• In-house training will be provided.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts when required.
