Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join the Port Elizabeth team

Oversee all maintenance servicing and repairs of company trucks and transport vehicles

Manage the upkeep of plant equipment processing machinery and related systems

Ensure all machinery and equipment remain in safe and reliable working condition

Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime

Monitor equipment performance and address recurring issues proactively

Supervise daily workshop operations and workflow

Allocate tasks and manage the performance of mechanics technicians and workshop staff

Ensure all work is completed efficiently on time and to required quality standards

Train mentor and develop team members

Manage staff attendance discipline and overall productivity

Manage and respond to vehicle and equipment breakdowns efficiently

Minimise downtime through quick turnaround and effective coordination

Liaise with external service providers when necessary

Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and comply with legal requirements

Maintain accurate service repair and compliance records

Track inspections licensing and audit requirements

Prepare reports on workshop performance downtime and maintenance costs



Requirements


Grade 12

Trade Test or relevant technical qualification (advantageous)

Proven experience in a Workshop Manager or similar supervisory role

Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks industrial machinery and hydraulic systems

Excellent leadership organisational and people management skills

Good understanding of health and safety regulations

Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Willingness to work overtime and be available for breakdown standby when required





Required Skills:
