POSITION: Workshop Manager

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Fleet Maintenance & Workshop Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the workshop
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are serviced according to manufacturer specifications
Fleet Management
- Manage a fleet of commercial vehicles trucks trailers and light vehicles
- Monitor vehicle performance and maintenance costs
- Analyse fleet utilisation and recommend replacement strategies
Staff Management
- Lead coach and develop workshop staff
- Allocate work according to technician skills and priorities
- Conduct performance management and disciplinary processes where required
Health Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation
- Maintain workshop housekeeping standards
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding waste disposal
Inventory & Procurement
- Manage workshop inventory and spare parts
- Monitor stock levels and reorder critical components
- Negotiate with suppliers and service providers
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage workshop budgets
- Monitor maintenance expenditure
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications & Experience required:
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Automotive Engineering/Fleet Management
- Trade Test qualification (Diesel Mechanic Motor Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic)
- Minimum 7 years experience in fleet maintenance or workshop management
