Job Summary
A multinational company that owns subsidiaries specializing in industrial and consumer specialty coatings sealants building materials and related services is seeking a Windows Administrator who will manage monitor and support Windows Server environments VMware virtualization and core infrastructure - remote (Johannesburg Cape Town or Durban)
Responsibilities:
Server and OS Administration: Perform upgrades routine patching maintenance and troubleshooting across Windows Server environments.
Virtualization and Hardware: Administer VMware environments (virtual server provisioning performance monitoring) and support hardware refresh initiatives.
Identity and Access: Manage Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and access controls.
Backups and Storage: Oversee system backups disaster recovery plans and storage infrastructure using tools such as Data Protector or Veeam.
Operations and Cloud Support: Handle routine support requests maintain SOPs and technical documentation and assist with Azure cloud initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
Operating Systems: Strong proficiency in Windows Server management (Server 2008 through 2025).
Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for task automation and administration.
Storage and Backups: Familiarity with enterprise storage and backup platforms (HPE Alletra IBM FlashSystem 5100 HP StoreOnce Data Domain Veeam Data Protector).
Cloud (Plus): Exposure to Azure IaaS and PaaS environments.
Core Competencies: Strong troubleshooting cross-functional collaboration and technical documentation skills.
