Job Summary

Would you like to be part of a value-driven commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day Were seeking an experienced a Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse staff enforcing safety and regulatory controls specific to tobacco handling maintaining inventory accuracy and delivering on customer KPIs and contractual service levels. This role balances people leadership with handson operational oversight to ensure ontime compliant distribution and storage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations: manage receiving put away picking packing and dispatch to meet customer SLAs.

  • Enforce safety and security: maintain a safe workplace enforce PPE lockandkey controls and restricted access for excise goods.

  • Ensure regulatory and customer compliance: follow tobaccospecific SOPs excise documentation traceability and audit readiness.

  • Lead and develop staff: coach teams run shift briefings manage attendance and support performance reviews.

  • Coordinate with carriers and customer contacts: schedule inbound/outbound movements and resolve shipment exceptions.

  • Drive continuous improvement: identify process improvements reduce waste and support cost control initiatives.

  • Report and escalate prepare daily/weekly operational reports and escalate issues to management and the customer as required.

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct weekly Gemba walks and safety inspections with full documentation and corrective action follow-up.

  • Facilitate weekly Toolbox Talks and promote a proactive safety culture within the outbound area.

  • Ensure full adherence to Maersk HSSE standards and contractor compliance requirements.

  • Maintain zero safety incidents by embedding awareness and safe working practices.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Someone with:

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.

  • Minimum 35 years warehouse supervisory experience in a 3PL or highsecurity environment.

  • Experience with WMS and inventory control; familiarity with barcode/RFID systems preferred.

  • Forklift and equipment certification where applicable.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills with proven ability to manage shift teams and customer interactions.

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Ontime dispatch rate; inventory accuracy; order pick accuracy; safety incident rate; customer satisfaction / SLA compliance.

Working conditions & compliance notes

  • Role requires adherence to strict security and agerestriction policies for tobacco products participation in audits and occasional overtime during peak periods.

  • The supervisor must maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling excisesensitive inventory
