Transportation Engineer

An engineering opportunity is available for a Professional Engineer with extensive rail and civil engineering experience. Our client requires a strategic and technically capable Transportation Engineer who can contribute to major rail transport and logistics projects while providing strong discipline leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration.
• At least 10 years relevant experience within Rail Logistics and/or Rail.
• Strong understanding of drainage formation and associated civil engineering works.
• Experience with geometric and formation design.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Experience across Stage 16 engineering.
• Ability and willingness to travel and work on site for extended periods as project requirements dictate.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Drive civil engineering inputs across feasibility studies business cases and project development.
• Lead the planning and development of rail projects from initial scoping through to implementation.
• Develop project scopes structures and procurement approaches.
• Conduct quantified risk analysis and provide technical recommendations to support investment decisions.
• Lead integrated transport and logistics planning initiatives.
• Manage and coordinate engineering activities within major capital projects and programmes.
• Undertake assessments modelling and technical analysis related to rail infrastructure.
• Perform and oversee geometric and formation design in line with relevant standards and codes.
• Provide technical support during construction and monitor progress on site.
• Prepare engineering documentation for client engagement review and acceptance.
