Our client a well-established manufacturing business in Durban is looking for an experienced professional to join their toolroom team and contribute to the design manufacture maintenance and continuous improvement of critical production tooling.
Duties & Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design and manufacture tools jigs dies moulds and fixtures
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Modify repair and optimise existing tooling
- Diagnose and resolve tooling-related issues within production environments
- Construct and maintain dies for plastic injection moulding and press operations
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance
- Ensure precision accuracy and quality standards are consistently maintained
- Maintain toolroom safety organisation and technical documentation
What Were Looking For
- Qualified Tool Jig & Die Maker
- Minimum 5 years experience within a toolmaking environment
- Experience in plastic injection moulding and/or press tooling and stamping operations
- Strong knowledge of tool design and manufacturing processes
- Experience operating EDM spark erosion and wire cutting equipment
- Skilled in conventional machining including turret milling lathe turning and surface grinding
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
- Familiarity with CNC machining environments
- Sound understanding of injection moulding processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
