Technical Writer

As a Technical Writer you will play an important role in making complex technical information easier to understand and use. You will work closely with Development Product Training and Sales & Marketing teams to turn technical information and product requirements into clear practical documentation.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that technical and product information is clearly documented and accessible to the right audiences.

• Work closely with internal teams and subject-matter experts to understand products features requirements and technical information.
• Research gather organise and translate complex information into clear and concise technical documentation.
• Create technical product documents manuals process documentation and configuration support materials.
• Develop user-friendly product documentation explaining product features how they are used and the benefits they provide.
• Review and refine existing technical documentation to ensure it remains accurate relevant and easy to understand.
• Create documentation using written content diagrams workflows and visuals where required.
• Ensure documentation is appropriate for its intended audience and meets the required quality standards.
• Collaborate with Development Product Training and Sales & Marketing teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects the product and its requirements.

We are looking for someone who can take complex technical concepts and turn them into documentation that is simple clear and useful.

• 3 years as a Technical Writer or in a similar role within a software development environment.
• Experience creating technical documentation for software products including written content diagrams workflows and visuals.
• A portfolio or examples of previous Technical Writing work that can be provided.
• Experience reviewing and refining existing technical documentation.
• Experience using documentation tools such as Confluence Notion or similar platforms.
• Experience with visual and diagramming tools such as Visio Lucidchart or similar.
• A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software development.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• R600 000 to R660 000 per annum inclusive of pension fund and group life cover
• Hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the Stellenbosch office
