Job Title:
Technical Trainer
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to oversee the end-to-end design delivery governance and continuous improvement of training solutions. The role is responsible for ensuring all training initiatives are aligned with statutory regulatory and budgetary requirements within a specialised refining environment.
Responsibilities and Skills:
- Translate operational skills requirements into structured training programmes.
- Ensure all training complies with MERSETA legislative and audit requirements.
- Conduct training needs analysis across all business areas.
- Develop update and track quarterly training matrices for each business area.
- Implement skills development initiatives aligned with employment equity targets.
- Manage skills development programmes across all organisational levels.
- Deliver internal technical training in line with business requirements and identified training needs.
- Coordinate external training interventions and manage all related logistics.
- Oversee all training administration analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with the SHEQ Department on safety interventions to ensure statutory compliance.
- Manage young talent development programmes including Apprenticeships Learnerships Internships and Graduate Programmes including SETA learner enrolment and learner support.
- Plan manage and submit the Annual Training Report (ATR) and Workplace Skills Plan (WSP).
- Manage the E-Learning platform and provide reports and updates on mandatory online training modules.
- Develop and deliver all in-house custom and bespoke training content and programmes
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint Excel Word and Outlook as well as SAP.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Advanced presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to transfer technical knowledge effectively to ensure competence.
- Ability to design technical and professional training course content.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of modern training techniques and tools for technical subjects.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with SETAs and the NQF framework.
- Advanced understanding of Unit Standards and SAQA IDs.
- Experience working with E-Learning platforms.
- Knowledge of BarnOwl and SharePoint would be advantageous.
- 68 years working experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with SDF and SETA frameworks.
Qualifications:
- Completed Matric qualification.
- National Diploma or Bachelors Degree in a technical field such as Engineering or a related discipline.
