Technical Services Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to manage the technical and engineering function in a leading steel manufacturing facility in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will provide strategic engineering leadership while ensuring plant reliability technical excellence and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Technical Services function to support manufacturing operations
• Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve plant reliability and performance
• Manage technical projects equipment upgrades and plant improvement initiatives
• Provide technical leadership to engineering and maintenance teams
• Continuous improvement process optimisation and cost reduction initiatives
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards health and safety legislation and quality requirements
• Manage technical budgets contractors and external service providers
• Collaborate with production and senior management to achieve operational objectives

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• BTech Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
• ECSA registration advantageous
• Experience in a Technical Services Manager/ Maintenance Manager in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and plant engineering systems
• Experience managing engineering projects and multidisciplinary technical teams
• Leadership analytical and project management skills
