Technical Installer – Smart Home, AV & Networking Systems

A specialist technology integration company is seeking an experienced Technical Installer to join their Johannesburg installation team. The role involves installing configuring and supporting integrated smart home systems home cinema solutions audiovisual equipment networking infrastructure and lowvoltage technologies within highend residential environments.

This is not an entrylevel role. The ideal candidate brings strong handson installation experience solid electronics knowledge and the ability to work professionally in luxury residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure smart home AV networking and lowvoltage systems.
  
• Perform structured cabling cable termination and faultfinding.
  
• Install equipment racks and ensure professional cable management.
  
• Set up audiovisual systems multiroom audio/video and home cinema components.
  
• Install and configure IPbased devices including routers switches WiFi systems CCTV and access control.
  
• Read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
  
• Troubleshoot system issues and perform onsite problemsolving.
  
• Communicate professionally with clients contractors designers and project teams.
  
• Maintain high standards of workmanship neatness and respect for client property.
  
• For senior candidates: supervise junior technicians and manage installation sites.
  

Essential Requirements

• Valid South African drivers licence (nonnegotiable).
  
• N6 Electronics or equivalent technical qualification.
  
• Proven handson installation experience.
  
• Strong understanding of electronics and lowvoltage systems.
  
• Structured cabling and termination experience.
  
• Good networking knowledge (routers switches WiFi IP devices).
  
• Ability to use tools correctly and work confidently on installation sites.
  
• Ability to read technical drawings and plans.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving ability.
  
• Professional communication and presentation.
  
• Reliable punctual and teamoriented.

• Smart home / home automation systems.
