Job Summary

Cape Joy is seeking a strategic driven leader to oversee our direct-to-consumer business driving the companys Wine Club growth and elevate the Cape Joy guest experience. This role combines operational excellence sales strategy and brand stewardship across the Tasting Room and Wine Club.

Requirements
  • 5 years management experience in luxury hospitality wine tourism or DTC sales.

  • Proven track record in Wine Club growth and management.

  • Strong understanding of hospitality compliance (food safety liquor licensing Occupational Health and Safety).

  • Experience developing implementing and auditing SOPs in a hospitality setting.

  • Advanced proficiency in GAAP and CRM systems.

  • WSET Level 2 minimum; Level 3 advantageous.

  • Strong commercial financial and analytical skills.

  • Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Professional presentation suitable for high-net-worth clientele.

  • Passion for premium wine and operational excellence.

Available to work weekends public holidays and events


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the vision for Tasting Room operations Wine Club and direct wine sales. Analyse performance trends prepare budgets and forecasts and drive continuous improvement in profitability and guest experience.

  • Operations & SOPs: Oversee daily Tasting Room operations tastings and food pairings. Develop implement and audit SOPs to ensure consistency. Ensure full compliance with food safety liquor licensing OHS and hospitality regulations.

  • Wine Club Management: Lead membership growth retention and engagement strategies. Develop exclusive member events and loyalty initiatives. Use Commerce7 and CRM data to optimise sales and track KPIs (membership growth retention conversion spend).

  • Guest Experience: Deliver luxury brand-aligned experiences. Manage VIP visits trade guests media and key stakeholders. Set service standards and training programmes to ensure excellence.

  • Team Leadership: Recruit coach and develop the hospitality team. Foster a culture of accountability service excellence and continuous learning in wine knowledge sales and compliance.

  • Sales & Collaboration: Partner with Marketing and Sales to drive visitation and Wine Club membership. Support digital campaigns events and promotions to align hospitality with broader brand objectives.

  • Systems & Reporting: Monitor sales inventory and customer behaviour. Maintain CRM data integrity and reporting accuracy. Oversee stock management and merchandising standards.
