Job Summary

ROLE PURPOSE
The Systems Intern will support the Fairsure Systems Team with day-to-day deliverables testing and maintenance of the Everest platform. Working under the guidance of the System Support Manager and senior team members the intern will gain hands-on exposure to pension fund and group risk administration systems system testing and quality assurance processes issue logging and resolution workflows and general IT platform support activities. We are looking for someone who is curious eager to learn and passionate about technology and helping others someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings energy and commitment to everything they do. This internship is designed to develop a well-rounded foundation in systems support within a specialised financial services environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
System support & platform assistance:
Assist the System Support team with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Everest platform including responding to user queries and escalating issues where required.
System testing & UAT:
Participate in the testing of system changes enhancements and new implementations on Everest. Execute test cases record results and flag defects or discrepancies for resolution by the development team.
Issue logging & tracking:
Log monitor and update system issues and change requests on the issue log management system ensuring accurate and timely status reporting.
SQL support:
Assist with SQL-related queries data extraction and troubleshooting.
Access audits:
Assist with system access audits user permission reviews and issue log audits.
Cyber security & compliance:
Assist with the implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity controls user access management security awareness initiatives vulnerability remediation and compliance with information security policies and standards under the guidance of the System Support Manager.
Ad hoc project support:
Contribute to ongoing team projects and initiatives under supervision including digitisation efforts and platform improvement workstreams.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the 12-month internship the successful candidate will have gained practical experience in:
Everest platform navigation and fund administration processes.
System testing methodologies UAT execution and defect reporting.
Issue management workflows using Mantis or equivalent tools.
Financial services data integrity and member record management.
Stakeholder communication and team collaboration in a financial services context.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum: Bachelors degree (completed or final year) in Information Systems Computer Science or a related field.
A qualification or coursework in IT systems analysis or data management is advantageous.
Experience & Knowledge
No prior work experience required; this is an entry-level internship opportunity.
Basic understanding of database concepts system workflows or software testing is advantageous.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint) is essential.
Exposure to one or more of the following is advantageous : programming languages (C# Java Python Kotlin) SQL HTML or AI tools.
