Job Summary
Job Title: Supervisor Site Logistics and Facilities
Location: Sandton Johannesburg
Main Purpose of the Job
To control inspect repair and maintain all small plant tools equipment and yard stock on site in an efficient and productive manner. This role is also fully responsible for supervising site facilities staff accommodation project offices asset registers site security and operational lighting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant & Equipment Control: Monitor equipment availability daily perform first-line breakdown assessments execute preventative maintenance and conduct monthly inventory stock-takes.
- Site Facilities Management: Regularly inspect laydown areas offices and accommodation facilities to ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations. Manage plumbing electrical and fencing repairs.
- Logistics & Fuel Administration: Monitor daily generator functions coordinate site fueling/diesel supplies and manage localized waste collection and pest control.
- Site Accommodation Management: Source regional project accommodation coordinate lease reviews perform entry/exit inspections and manage the site rental pipeline.
- Site Administration: Oversee plant hire sub-contractor invoicing reconcile monthly diesel and vehicle usage sheets compile non-technical requisitions and manage site timesheets and petty cash.
Education & Qualifications
- Technical Qualification: N3 Mechanical Electrical or Millwright qualification.
- Additional Training: Completed Supervisory Course or a relevant post-matric discipline.
- Drivers License: Valid drivers license.
Work Experience & Knowledge
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in first-level tools and equipment control asset repair and site administration.
- Computer Literacy: Proven strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word) alongside standard asset control operating systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic mechanical electrical and stock control inspection principles. Familiarity with ISO and 18001 standards is highly advantageous.
Required Skills:
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a construction supervisor within electrical infrastructure construction. Core Knowledge: Broad technical knowledge of construction plant/equipment alongside working knowledge of the OHS Act NEM Act ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Computer Literacy: Basic computer proficiency (MS Office MS Excel and email communication).
Required Education:
Academic: N6 qualification paired with a valid vocational trade test. Licensing & Medical: Valid drivers license and a valid medical certificate of fitness. Compulsory Training: Working at Heights (Fall Arrest & Rescue - US229995/US229998) HIRA Legal Liability Excavation Supervisor First Aid Level 1 Fire Fighting and IRCON (Construction Regulations).
