Job Summary
A busy retail warehouse operation in Nelspruit is looking for a practical organised Storeman/Driver to handle and deliver stock to clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is organised detailed-driven and can multi-task effectively.
The focus is on receiving goods picking and preparing customer orders moving stock safely and making sure the warehouse stays organised and efficient.
Duties / Key Responsibilities
- Receive goods into the company using the appropriate procedure. Ensuring all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order;
- Ensure that customer orders are picked and dispatched accurately;
- Follow the correct procedure for loading and unloading goods onto the trucks;
- Prepare and complete warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule;
- Transport company products and materials to and from specified locations in a safe and timely manner;
- Follow best practices for safety both on the road and while loading or unloading the vehicle;
- Follow all laws and regulations both on the road and in the warehouse;
- Communicate with dispatchers drivers and other team members to make deliveries;
- Perform basic truck maintenance complete daily routine checks and logbook;
- Track shipments and deliveries and obtain customer signatures when needed;
- Report any discrepancies and communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers;
- Support company-wide initiatives to improve service levels to our customers;
- Be an active functional member of the warehouse team; and
- Respect the need for confidentiality when processing personal/customer data; and
any other tasks necessary for the conduct of the employers business as the employer may from time to time direct.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Valid code 10 drivers license with PDP
- 2-3 years code 10 driving experience in a retail warehouse environment long and short distances
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with a methodical approach to tasks
- Strong attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset
- Strong communication skills for effective cross-department collaboration
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively and manage time efficiently
- Computer literate
Other Requirements:
- No criminal record.
- No previous dismissals.
- Previous employment will be verified.
- Willingness to complete a polygraph and drug screening.
