Statutory Reporting and Compliance Accountant

A well-established export-driven manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Statutory Reporting and Compliance Accountant to strengthen their finance team. Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
Perform reconciliations between fixed asset registers and the General Ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
Assist with annual fixed asset verification processes and physical asset counts
Track and monitor capital expenditure ensuring alignment with approved budgets
Compile and prepare Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in full compliance with IFRS standards
Oversee and coordinate the external audit process including managing timelines deliverables and supporting schedules
Address and resolve audit queries promptly ensuring accuracy and completeness
Maintain continuous audit readiness by ensuring financial records and processes meet required standards throughout the year
Prepare and review corporate income tax calculations and ensure accurate timely submissions
Oversee VAT returns ensuring they are complete accurate and fully supported by underlying financial records
Ensure full compliance with both local and international VAT regulations particularly relating to exports and cross-border transactions
Manage engagement with tax authorities including handling SARS audits verifications and information requests
Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and evaluate their potential impact on the business
Collaborate with international distribution entities and external service providers to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
Support statutory reporting obligations across foreign distribution operations

Non-Negotiable Qualifications:
CA(SA) / AGA(SA) / PA(SA) or ACCA
