About the Position

SARS is seeking a dynamic and highly professional individual who demonstrates honesty integrity ethical courage accountability fairness objectivity confidentiality and sound judgement to support the creation and entrenchment of a culture of unquestionable integrity and ethical behaviour. The successful candidate must have strong technical knowledge practical experience in ethics integrity and corporate governance. Candidate must have knowledge of implementing enterprise integrity and anti-corruption frameworks conducting integrity risk assessments lifestyle integrity audits and managing conflicts of interest. The role also requires expertise in policy and code-of-conduct development compliance monitoring integrity-related data analysis reporting programme project management stakeholder engagement and change management. The candidate must be able to develop promotional measurement materials facilitate training workshops campaigns ethical dialogues evaluate integrity interventions at individual and organisational levels translate policy into practical action specialist advice produce high-quality management reports for employees and leaders at all levels.

Job Purpose

To enhance organisational capability to promote and maintain a culture of integrity within SARS.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

Relevant Bachelors degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in the related field with minimum 8 - 10 years experience in Ethics Integrity Governance Communication Planning Reporting and Anti-Corruption (Integrity promotion and assurance) environment within the Public Sector/Law Environment/ Highly Regulatory Corporate Governance Space or similar environment of which 3 - 4 years at a junior specialist level.

Senior Certificate (NQF 4) with a minimum15 years related experience in Ethics Integrity Governance Communication Planning Reporting and Anti-Corruption (Integrity promotion and assurance) environment within the Public Sector/Law Environment/ Highly Regulatory Corporate Governance Space or similar environment of which 3 - 4 years at a junior specialist level.

  • Analyse and make recommendations about improvements to specialist systems procedures policies and practices.
  • Contribute to the optimum utilisation of org. resources advising on effective planning and development of area of specialisation resource plans.
  • Develop a single practice area in alignment with operational activity and procedural frameworks and ensure tactical implementation.
  • Draw on own technical or professional expertise knowledge and experience to identify and recommend tactical solutions to defined problems in practices.
  • Integrate business information compare analyse and produce reports to identify trends discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes.

  • Recommend changes to optimise processes systems practice areas and associated procedures and execute the implementation of change and innovation.
  • Translate top-down policy apply modification in relation to own practice area and communicate impact to relevant stakeholders.
  • Consult in area of expertise to provide specialist input into the development and amendment of policies processes and SOPs across the organisation.
  • Manage the development and implementation of suitable internal communications processes.
  • Coordinate implementation of plans and initiatives in area of accountability.
  • Liaise with all employees and management to create and heighten awareness regarding critical issues and challenges.
