START DATE: 01 October 2026 / ASAP (6-Month Contract*)

REPORT TO: Assistant Spa Manager / Spa Manager

TRADING HOURS & SHIFTS:

• Monday Sunday
• Shifts: 08:00am - 17:00pm / 10:00am - 19:00pm
• 06:00am - 15:00pm (once per month only)
• 1x Weekend off per month days off in the week
• Hospitality Sector - includes all major public Holidays

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. South African citizen OR valid working permit for employment in SA (we do not offer permits)
2. DIPLOMA achieved Beauty Specialist / Health & Skin Care / Beauty Therapy / Somatology / Cosmetology
3. International accreditation from ITEC / SAAHSP / CIBTAC / CIDESCO
4. Reliable transport within the Southern Suburbs or be based within greater Constantia region
5. Professionally groomed - 5-star appearance - looking the part
6. Prior experience working in a Hotel-Spa / Cruise Ship / Luxury Salon or Day Spa
7. Ability to perform a Spa Treatment when operationally required (whilst not commonly required you must be confident to assist if need be)
8. Must be committed for the full duration of the fixed term contract

JOB SUMMARY:
Our Client is seeking a professional guest-focused Spa Hostess / Backup Therapist to deliver exceptional hospitality and ensure the smooth daily operation of its luxury spa.

As the first point of contact the successful candidate will be responsible for welcoming guests managing reservations coordinating spa services and providing personalised guest care. The role also requires a qualified therapist who can assist with spa treatments during peak periods or staff shortages.

The ideal candidate will combine excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with hands-on therapy experience ensuring every guest enjoys a seamless and memorable spa experience in line with our Clients philosophy of restoring wellbeing through connection.

KEY DUTIES:

• Guest Relations & Hospitality: Welcome and host guests manage check-in and check-out procedures escort guests between spa facilities and ensure a personalised luxury spa experience.
• Reservations & Administration: Manage treatment bookings appointment confirmations rescheduling telephone and email enquiries guest records and payment transactions.
• Spa Operations: Maintain a professional and welcoming reception environment coordinate daily treatment schedules monitor inventory and support the smooth running of spa operations.
• Backup Therapy: Perform professional spa treatments including massages facials and body treatments when operationally required and within the scope of the candidates qualifications and experience.
• Guest Experience: Anticipate guest needs manage special requests address concerns and encourage feedback to maintain exceptional service standards.
• Sales & Upselling: Promote our Clients spa treatments retail products and packages recommending suitable services and upgrades to enhance the guest experience and support revenue growth.
• Team Coordination: Communicate effectively with therapists reception colleagues and management to ensure efficient scheduling smooth service delivery and minimal guest waiting times.
• Professional Standards: Maintain guest confidentiality uphold our Clients service standards and ensure treatment rooms and guest areas meet the required hygiene and presentation standards.
• Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training remain informed about new treatments and industry trends and contribute to continuous service improvement.
