Network Recruitment is partnering with a leading South African developer and manufacturer of advanced electronic defence and security systems in the search for an experienced Software Engineering Automation Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly innovative engineering environment where you will play a key role in driving digital transformation DevOps excellence requirements management and automation across complex product development programmes.

We are looking for a technically strong professional who combines software development automation systems thinking and process optimisation to improve engineering efficiency and support the delivery of world-class products.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
As the Automation & DevOps Engineer you will:

Drive improvements in Requirements Management processes and traceability throughout the product development lifecycle.
Establish and maintain requirements design verification and validation baselines.
Ensure alignment with industry standards including DO-178 DO-254 ARP4754A and EN9100.
Design implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and associated toolsets.
Develop and support Agile development practices including continuous integration testing delivery and deployment.
Manage and enhance Jira workflows reporting systems and engineering dashboards.
Administer and maintain user authentication systems including LDAP environments.
Collaborate with global teams on infrastructure and cloud deployment initiatives.
Develop maintain and optimise automation scripts and engineering tool integrations.
Support migration from legacy systems and contribute to cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
Identify and implement new technologies that improve engineering productivity and development processes.

Qualifications

BEng in Electronic Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or equivalent.
Honours or Masters Degree would be advantageous.

Experience

10 years Experience within a software systems engineering or product development environment.
Exposure to Agile Scrum DevOps and Continuous Integration methodologies.
Experience in highly regulated or safety-critical industries will be advantageous.
