Software Engineering Application Support Engineer

Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 3 months contract (with a potential to extend)
Work set up: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Software Engineering - Application Support Engineer to manage ongoing application support and system stability for core workforce platforms.

What you will do:

• Analyze troubleshoot and resolve WFS incidents and service requests within SLA timelines.
• Support business users on workforce scheduling time and attendance queries.
• Execute configuration changes and enhancements within defined thresholds including impact analysis effort estimation and testing.
• Provide functional and technical support across core WFS capabilities including workforce scheduling time and attendance reporting and configuration/scripting.
• Monitor system performance integrations and interfaces.
• Identify recurring issues and structural improvement opportunities.
• Perform functional and integration testing while supporting release and deployment activities.
• Engage with third-party vendors (such as ADP/WFS) and collaborate with SAP AMS teams and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to documentation automation initiatives and ongoing knowledge transfer activities.
• Deliver all support services strictly within agreed SLAs to maintain system stability and minimize business disruption.
• Ensure full compliance with Sasol AMS governance and operational processes.
• Drive the continuous improvement and automation of support activities to optimize the shared capacity model.

Qualifications :

• Minimum 4 years of relevant Workforce Software (WFS / ADP) functional and/or technical expertise.
• Mid-level professional standing with deep knowledge of workforce scheduling and time & attendance processes.
• Proven track record handling incidents service requests and change requests within an ITIL-aligned framework.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability for complex software environments.
• Practical hands-on WFS configuration reporting and/or scripting experience.
• Background working in AMS delivery environments with a strong preference for SAP AMS.
• Direct experience executing functional & integration testing and managing release support.
• Comprehensive understanding of integrations and interfaces between WFS and SAP systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities under high-pressure scenarios.
• Effective stakeholder communication and user engagement skills across diverse business teams.
• Demonstrated ability to operate successfully within strict SLA-driven environments.
• Proactive mindset focused heavily on continuous improvement and system automation.
• Superior prioritization and time management skills to handle competing tasks.
• Capability to work productively within a shared AMS delivery model and pooled capacity structure.
• Strong team collaboration skills spanning technical functional and business teams.
