Software Engineer (C++)

Our client is seeking a talented Software Engineer with strong C development experience to join an established Agile development team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of specialised engineering software used by professionals across South Africa and internationally. Key Responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhancements using C and Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from design through testing and maintenance.
• Work within a collaborative SCRUM environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Research design and implement efficient solutions to technical challenges.
• Produce clear technical documentation.
• Provide maintenance and defect resolution in collaboration with the support team.
• Stay current with software development best practices and emerging technologies.
• Build an understanding of industry trends within the civil engineering sector.
  

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science BEng with a strong mathematics focus or a related qualification.
• 36 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C development skills.
• Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work effectively within an Agile development environment.
• Experience with MFC in Microsoft Visual Studio.

• Civil Engineering background or qualification.
  

Advantageous

• Exposure to CAD software development.
• Knowledge of civil infrastructure or engineering software.
