We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented SigmaNEST CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming nesting setting up and operating CNC cutting equipment to ensure efficient material utilisation high-quality production and on-time delivery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming nesting setting up and operating CNC cutting equipment to ensure efficient material utilisation high-quality production and on-time delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience working with SigmaNEST software and CNC laser plasma or profile cutting machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Programming & Nesting:
- Create and optimise nesting programs using SigmaNEST software.
- Generate CNC programs for laser plasma oxy-fuel or waterjet cutting machines.
- Maximise material utilisation while minimising waste and production costs.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to prepare cutting programs.
Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC cutting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load materials and monitor machine performance throughout production.
- Perform machine start-up shutdown and routine operational checks.
- Ensure components are manufactured according to engineering drawings and quality specifications.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Verify measurements using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Identify defects and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and procedures.
Production Support:
- Work closely with Engineering Production and Quality departments.
- Prioritise jobs according to production schedules.
- Maintain accurate production records and machine documentation.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Report equipment faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Ensure work areas remain clean organised and safe.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Relevant CNC machining or manufacturing qualification will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience operating CNC cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience using SigmaNEST software.
- Experience with laser plasma oxy-fuel or waterjet cutting equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
