Senior Systems Developer JHB (Hybrid Position)

A leading Waste Management Firm in South Africa is seeking an innovative Systems Developer to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for the process of analysing and creating reports programming testing and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining bespoke applications frameworks and points of integration within the business application space.

In order to be considered for this role you must have the following:

• National Diploma/bachelors degree in computer science/software engineering OR a Post Matric IT Certificate in Development or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience as a software developer with a strong focus on data development analytics and reporting.

• Demonstrated leadership experience having successfully led projects end-to-end from initial requirements analysis through to deployment and production support.

• Hands-on programming expertise utilizing Python C# and Angular.

• Advanced database and reporting skills requiring SQL Server (Stored Procedures Triggers Views) SSRS SSIS Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

• Practical experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD) for development testing and deployment along with Web Services and API integration.

Key Accountabilities (But not limited to):

• Software Development & Coding: Writing clean scalable and efficient code based on specifications using approved programming languages and methodologies.

• Testing & Deployment: Testing and deploying applications and systems within Agile-based project environments.

• System Maintenance & Modernisation: Revising updating refactoring debugging and improving existing software while bringing innovative ideas regarding modernisation and advanced technology.

• Documentation & Reporting: Developing documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) and creating SQL SSRS and Power BI reports that add business value.

• Technical Support: Serving as an expert on applications communicating with stakeholders and acting as 2nd to 3rd level support on bespoke developed software.
