CAPE TOWN - OFFICE BASED - 3 months Fixed Term contract
The Senior Specialist Credit Control is responsible for managing credit risk optimizing cash flow and safeguarding accounts receivable across the Wholesale and Export business. The role drives effective credit management strategies provides expert insight into customer risk and financial exposure and partners with key stakeholders to support sustainable business growth while minimizing financial risk.
The Senior Specialist Credit Control is responsible for managing credit risk optimizing cash flow and safeguarding accounts receivable across the Wholesale and Export business. Local and Export business:
- Secure timely collection of receivables by working closely with the customer and resolving the causes of non-payment
- Drive timely collection by following up on overdue invoices with customers collection and end consumers
- Manage customer relationships which includes problem resolution and root cause analysis
- Assess & review the credit risk of the customer on regular basis calculate and suggest the required credit limits
- Decide on the release of the blocked orders and ensure timely release
- Provide insight in the development of the accounts receivable position of the customer to sales and finance teams
- Manage the relationship with customer service sales DC operations and other stakeholders in the business
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations of Key Accounts for review by the Senior Credit Manager
- Monthly cash flow forecast
- Identify improvement opportunities and support their implementation
- Ensure the lowest possible write off for uncollectable balances
- Provide insight into the calculation of the required provision for uncollectable balances
- Play an active role in the credit note and returns handling process
- Support ongoing projects for the implementation of technology solutions
- Support requests from partner Finance department
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls over the work performed
