Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process engineering activities across studies projects and operational improvement initiatives.
- Develop process designs mass balances process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Conduct process simulations equipment sizing and process optimisation studies.
- Support feasibility studies concept development detailed design commissioning and plant start-up activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency throughput recovery safety and sustainability.
- Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Conduct process investigations root cause analyses and troubleshooting activities.
- Develop and review technical specifications reports and engineering deliverables.
- Liaise with clients operations teams equipment suppliers and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations engineering standards and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering Metallurgical Engineering Process Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years experience in process engineering within mining mineral processing oil & gas or heavy industrial environments.
- Proven experience across project and operational environments.
- Strong knowledge of process design optimisation and plant performance improvement.
- Experience with process simulation software and engineering design tools.
- Exposure to feasibility studies detailed design commissioning and plant support activities.
- Strong understanding of process safety and risk management principles.
- Professional registration with ECSA or progress towards registration will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
